Ingredients
Scale
2 cups ridged potato chips (Lay’s, Ruffles, or any thick-cut chips)
1 cup milk chocolate chips (or dark/white chocolate, based on preference)
1 tsp coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional, for smoother melting)
Sea salt (optional, for extra flavor)
Toppings (optional: crushed nuts, caramel drizzle, or sprinkles)
Instructions
Prepare a baking sheet – Line it with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Melt the chocolate – In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the chocolate chips in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted. If using, stir in coconut oil for a smoother consistency.
Dip the chips – Using tongs or a fork, dip each potato chip into the melted chocolate, ensuring an even coat. Let excess drip off before placing them on the parchment paper.
Add toppings (optional) – Sprinkle sea salt, nuts, or caramel drizzle while the chocolate is still wet.
Let them set – Place the baking sheet in the fridge for 20 minutes or until the chocolate hardens.
Serve and enjoy! Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
Notes
For a crunchier texture, use ridged or kettle-cooked potato chips.
Experiment with flavors by using dark, milk, or white chocolate.
Want a spicy kick? Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili flakes to the melted chocolate.
Perfect for gifting! Package them in decorative bags for a homemade sweet-and-salty treat.
